Katie & Paul
Katie and Paul met in St. John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, in 1997. Captain Paul was living on his sailboat and Katie on hers. It was love at first sight!
Together, they lived aboard their catamaran named “New Beginnings” with their Maltese, Sweet Pea. For 5 years they successfully operated day charters and snorkeling trips around the many beautiful islands of the US and British Virgin Islands.
However, Paul was missing his family, and the decision was made to move to Jacksonville to be closer to the kids. This allowed them to add another dog to the family and also become foster parents with the organization ShihTzu and Furbaby Rescue.
Katie and Paul have always had a great love for dogs and all animals for that matter. Katie is a retired Hospice nurse and is also currently taking care of 2 hospice Yorkies. Two old retired breeders will now be able to live out their remaining days with love and comfort.
They started this endeavor with the thought that this is is what they would want if they had to leave their furbaby in someone else’s care.
